multiMAN 04.17.04 update is available online (cex/dex/stealth)
multiMAN ver 04.17.04 UPD CEX (20121226).pkg (1.76MB)
Download multiMAN ver 04.17.04 UPD CEX (20121226).pkg
* Visual improvements
* Added SD/MS/CF entries in Retro
* Fade-in for game backgrounds
* Some other improvements related to copying/scanning/verifying/etc
* multiMAN "minimal"/"bare" version available (read below)
=======================================
Few weeks ago some people requested a 'minimalistic' version of multiMAN. For them I created this package:
multiMAN ver 04.17.04 BARE CEX (20121226) (only 3.8MB)
Download multiMAN ver 04.17.04 BARE CEX (20121226).pkg
This is a skinned down version (BARE). It can be installed on any PS3 without the need of a previous mM installation. It is like a "base" but the differences are:
* Simple theme (2MB) (no theme music)
* No GUI translations (English only)
* No user fonts (only system fonts will be used)
* No PS1/PS2/PSP names/IDs database (no game names will be displayed)
* AIOMOD not included (old BD-Mirror method for USB games will be used on 4.21+CFWs)
Do not use it unless you're the one who asked for it. BARE can be installed on any firmware for normal users who don't really need any of the listed above features. Of course NONE of these features are present in other BUMs so everyone should be happy. It can be installed on top of your current mM if you wish to test it (you will not notice much difference, because you already have the fonts/translations/aiomod/themes installed).
This bare version is suitable for:
* English speaking users
* All 3.41/3.55 (non Cobra/TB) firmwares
* All 4.21+ firmwares (disc may be required when booting bd-mirror USB games if AIOMOD.BIN is not present)
* Weeners who complain all the time that 130MB is too much for a stupid PS3 homebrew like mM

Okay, ladies and gents, the way I see it sony will soon patch my console unban method, in my opinion it will be possible to work around the patch, I however won’t release it publicly.
What I will however give you is : PS Unban, this is a tool to Unban your ps3 on both 4.21 and 3.55 firmwares (different pkg’s) (the 4.21 should work on both but meh), no console ID needed.
If it gets fixed i’ll patch it a few times.
GUIDE:
Install either “PS_Unban v0.1(4.21).pkg” OR “PS_Unban v0.1(3.55).pkg on your PS3.
(The 4.21 should work on both firmwares).
Once you have installed PS Unban, run it.
When it opens,
Press X if your on firmware 4.21
OR
Press the start button if your on 3.55
The application will then unban you and close automatically.
You can now sign into PSN.
This was created by me so for the love of god don’t start dishing donations out to people or what not, since people are trying to claim donations for my work -__-
Donations to me however would be appreciated if you want it kept up-to-date.
I still require a tidy 4.30 LV2 dump to make it compatible with 4.30 if anyone wants to send me one.
P.S – This has to be ran everytime PS3 is started, I might release semi-perma unban in future.
P.P.S – The 4.21 release is still beta, let me know if any issues occur.

While on the 'improvement' track I decided to remove and completely rewrite another major function in mM - copying folders/games. Currently the memory used by the new function is down to 6MB (from 12MB - used to be 32MB in the beginning). While at it I added the double progress bar so you can monitor the progress for each file and the overall progress.
- Toute connexion au SEN avec un CFW pourra entraîner un ban permanent de la console par son ID.
- Tout lancement de jeu AVANT sa sortie dans le commerce pourra entraîner un ban permanent de la console par son ID.
First I am going to say that this is not going to be an article, just a first blog post and some info about my recent project.
Finally I got my hands on cobra it was quite a lot of time since I touched this last time. There was s good things happened since then eg. I reverse engineered usercheat and true blue, had done alot ps3 and not ps3 related hacking. There was a bad things eg. BlueDiskCFW, lv0 leak, alot of devs leave the scene…
Cobra was for me really “the last” thing I have to do.
The last time when I worked on this I didnt had a dongle, and all what I had was a dump by JaiCraB. I reverse engineered it as much as possible, figure out almost all tricks, encrypton and etc. And figuare out that it reads alot of data from dongle, and I cant do much without dongle itself. Thats why I put this project to the back burner.
Well… I had never buyed anyone dongle, and I never was not going to. All my dongles was donated ( thanks again ) but not that time.
it was hard for me to make this decision but a few days ago cobra finally shipped to me…
3 days and now its all over.
Security is good enough, but not without big security risks. But it still the best crypto/obfuscation what I had seen on ps3. Sony have something to learn from this guys, especially now.
Cobra / True Blue almost identical, have the same source code, if you ever hacked 1 thing, 2nd wouldnt be a problem. The main functionality, honestly, not changed since original jb. Thats a shame. Thats why I cracking them like nuts

================================================== ===
The key features of this release:
* The improved PC ps3netsrv application allows much faster access speeds when retrieving data from folders in mmOS or when browsing photo/music/video/ROMs from remote /net_host. You can now browse a remote folder with roms+covers and it takes a fraction of the time it took before.
* The Remote Access feature allows you to connect to another PS3 anywhere in the world (be it in the other room or across the country) and copy files/folders, play Retro ROMs, view photos and play music and video files (after caching)
* The Remote Access Control (PS3) feature allows you to connect to anotherPS3 running multiMAN and view its screen and control it with your pad. It allows you to minimize the current session and work with your own PS3 (to transfer files to the remote PS3 for example) and then return to the other PS3.
* The Remote Access Control (PC) feature via aldostools mmRAS clientallows you to connect to your PS3 (or any other PS3 around the world running multiMAN) from your PC. You can change the encoding quality of the picture, take screenshots in JPG (PrintScreen button) and control the PS3 with your keyboard and mouse. Click the [?] button for more information of the keyboard mappings.
* The option in "Settings" (Remote Access Permissions) allows you to configure the access to your PS3. You can completely "Disable" it, you can allow remote connections only to access your "Files", you can restrict it only to remote control "Screen" or allow "Full" access for files and screen control.
* The Remote Access Control provides 960x540 resolution (it doesn't depend on the remote PS3 resolution). The best results/quality and fastest response is achieved when server PS3 is running in 1920x1080.
================================================== ===
* To be able to use these features you have to configure your remote peers in "Settings" -> "Network Servers".
* Any configured /net_host can be used for file access (PC and PS3) and for remote control (PS3)
* If you are connecting to a PC you must have ps3netsrv application running on the PC side
* If you wish to restrict access to your PS3 - change the setting in "Remote Access Permissions"
* If you wish to connect to another PS3 configured as /net_host - use the"Connect to Another PS3" function in "Settings"
While connected to another PS3 you can 'minimize' the connection and work with your own PS3 and then resume the remote control. You will see the live minimized remote screen in the lower corner. To switch between local/remote control use [START]+[SQUARE]. To terminate a connection to a remote PS3use [START]+[CIRCLE]. All other buttons you press will be sent to the remotePS3.
MANY thanks to aldostools for creating the PC application to connect to a remote-control-enabled PS3.
